Some random knowledge for the day....

We've had over 1000 views of our blog - kinda exciting to know our story is getting out there  :)

Today I learned we also got our first donation from a friend - we are so blessed!

We will be visiting with a lot of family this coming week for Christmas, and I'm sure the subject of our adoption will come up. I'm finding that it makes me excited to talk about, because then this all feels Real. It is easy to think it is all a dream sometimes. I'm also excited because some of Jon's family has adopted, so I'm anxious to talk more to those families over Christmas. Yey for time with family!!!  Hopefully soon our children will be able to join us for our Crazy and Hectic Christmas adventures - I'm excited for everyone to meet our children...  We're excited to meet our children too!!!!  :)

Love & attachment

As I hug and kiss my son goodnight (for at least the third time, 2 hours past his bedtime!) I can't help but think about my other children. How I long to hold them in my arms, kiss them goodnight, show them how much they are loved, let them know that I will always be their mother. Yesterday Jon and I attended our first education meeting. This was put on by our local agency conducting our homestudy. The focus of this meeting was to talk about what to expect once our children are home. We learned a lot about "triggers" for our children - when life could be more difficult, we also learned more about attachment issues, and we learned/discussed what it will be like for our children to live in a "white privileged" family & neighborhood. Since this education, my mind has been swarming with many different thoughts. Many I'd like to try to convey into my writing, although this may take a few blogs. What's the buzz?

With Easter just passed, I was realizing that I never listened to Jesus Christ Superstar - one of my favorite past times during Lent, as the music has always led me to think about Christ and how he related with his family and friends in those last moments before his death. Plus, I'm a sucker for any music from a musical. Imagine that!? So -  What's the buzz? Tell me what's happenin'.... This year I missed the Superstar boat though with little downtime at home; however, I did find myself listening to Godspell  one day as I organized my bedroom and was reminded of one of my favorite songs and its' lyrics.... All good gifts around us Are sent from heaven above So thank the Lord, oh thank the Lord For all His love I really want to thank you Lord! All good gifts - my life is filled with so many.
