Following the Eden Nature Center we met with a local couple that goes to Pastor Ken's church. Edwin and Helen first showed us around some of Davao, stopping at a local market, a park in one of the poorer neighborhoods, and one of their famous malls. At times it was hard to take everything in. The children wading in the trash filled waters, the collapsing houses, the busy and chaotic market, the young girl telling me I had pretty eyes, the piles of rice, mounds of fruit, and baskets of fresh fish, the laughter, the yelling, the handshakes, all were sites to both watch and hear.

Our trip to the mall included a long time in the Cultura store where we could buy local goods. Then we got a little something to eat and then went and saw the water fountain display.

America take note! There is a red light over spots in the mall that are occupied!
Green lights for available parking.
Why have we not done this yet!?!
This is also the jeepney we got to ride in! |
